Angelitos Sanctuario, the biggest little animal sanctuary in México, is delighted to invite you to an exciting exhibition of their inaugural photography contest, México Through My Lens. The free exhibition will be held August 30 - Sept 1 at Fabrica La Aurora and features images of animals, people, and places in México captured by international professional and amateur photographers.
Photographs will be prominently exhibited in the grand lobby of Fabrica la Aurora, once a textile factory now housing art galleries showcasing canvases, sculptures and handcrafted products from great artists and one of the main attractions of the city of San Miguel de Allende.
Our esteemed judges include Dirk Bakker, Michelle Marie Bres, and Scott Umstaad for the professional photographers. Ian Gough, Sam Perez and Paynal Ward will judge the amateur photographers. Prizes of a Magical Night in San Miguel will be awarded for the best of each category (animals, people, places) to both amateur and professional photographers. Winners will be announced the morning of Aug 30. The Best of Show prize of $5000mxn will also be announced on Aug 30. Attendees will vote for the People’s Choice winner during the three day event and will be announced on Sept 1!
This unique fundraiser benefits Angelitos Sanctuario, an animal sanctuary that provides desperately needed veterinary care, food and shelter to abused, starving dogs, cats, and donkeys rescued in Central México. Angelitos has adopted out hundreds of healthy animals to well-vetted homes and provides permanent, safe, loving homes for the unadoptable and severely handicapped.
Angelitos Sanctuario is currently building a permanent home in San Miguel de Allende for rescues from all over Central México. This fundraiser will provide desperately needed funding for operating expenses. There will be opportunities to contribute to the sanctuary at the event, a raffle with chances to win spectacular prizes, and photos for sale.
