In San Miguel de Allende, community isn’t just a word; it’s a feeling, a support system, and a way of life. This is a place where people from all walks of life and at all stages of life converge, creating a rich tapestry of experiences and perspectives.
What binds us here is a shared understanding: we all belong, we all matter, and we all cherish one another’s differences. This acceptance creates a kind of magic - one that’s woven into the fabric of San Miguel.
Recently, the spirit of our community was on full display at the LGBTQ & Amigos event held at La Joya Azul SMA Guest House. Nearly 200 people gathered, not only to celebrate inclusivity but to celebrate each other.
The energy was infectious; people were laughing, dancing, and sharing stories, strangers and friends alike. There was a powerful sense of unity in the air, as though each person’s presence contributed a unique note to the symphony of the evening.
Another recent example of San Miguel’s remarkable spirit was the outpouring of support at the Gabriel Hernández recovery event at Paprika Music House. Friends, acquaintances, and even those who’d never met Gabriel came together with open hearts, sharing their generosity and good wishes.
It was a reminder of how our community responds in times of need—an instinctive coming together, each person contributing in whatever way they can.
And it’s not just in times of celebration or crisis that this community shines. Our talented musicians, for example, feel the constant support from those around them as they explore new songs, new styles, and new instruments. Here, San Miguel becomes a playground for artists and dreamers, a safe haven where creativity flourishes and new possibilities unfold. Like children exploring a playground, we feel safe and encouraged, knowing that this community embraces us, supporting our personal growth and celebrating our evolution.
How fortunate we are to have found this corner of Earth, where our individual journeys are honored, and our collective spirit thrives.
In San Miguel de Allende, we have found more than just a place to live; we have found a home in each other.
We are blessed.
